How this platform works
1 · Trace — whole-market data engine
Every instrument in the universe (7 majors, 15 crosses, 8 exotics, gold & silver) is
loaded live when your machine can reach the providers (hourly bars via yfinance, which needs
the optional requirements-live.txt; daily ECB rates via Frankfurter). The whole market
switches to live only when every instrument is available; otherwise it is labelled
synthetic and a
correlated currency-factor simulator generates a
coherent entire market: each currency has a latent factor driven by shared risk &
commodity shocks, and every pair is exp(L_base − L_quote) — so crosses are
arbitrage-consistent and the strength meter has real structure to extract.
2 · Predict — ML + statistical signals
Per pair, a gradient-boosting ensemble (40+ features: multi-horizon returns, RSI, MACD geometry, Bollinger state, ADX regime, candle anatomy, session effects) forecasts direction, expected move and volatility over the next bars — trained strictly time-ordered (walk-forward, no shuffle) and reported with honest out-of-sample accuracy.
3 · Act — signal engine & trade plans
Six factors (trend, momentum, mean-reversion, breakout, ML, currency-strength differential) are weighted by regime into a composite score. Beyond threshold it emits a full plan: entry on the next bar, a volatility/structure-aware stop-loss, a first partial target at the configured R multiple (at least the minimum R:R), and a separate ATR/structure stretch target. The configured fraction is taken at the first target, then the stop moves to breakeven. Position sizing converts quote-currency risk into the configured account currency and uses each instrument's lot size.
4 · Protect — proposed-portfolio risk layer
Scanned recommendations are allocated together under position-count, per-currency exposure and risk caps, and correlation scaling. Kelly is shown only as a reference. Daily-loss and drawdown breakers require tracked account P&L and open positions; they are not active in this analysis-only app.
5 · Validate — event-driven backtester
Signals computed on bar t execute at bar t+1's open (no lookahead). Intrabar stop/target fills are conservative (stop wins ties), partial/runner exits match the plan, opposite signals exit at the next open, and quote-currency P&L uses prior-bar FX conversion rates. The terminal close is included in the final equity and return metrics.
